The Welsh club only needs five points in their final three matches to gain a spot in League One. This is England’s third division.
The latest result, which was achieved on Tuesday before a total of 11,544 fans at SToK Cae Ras, came about as a direct result of the two goals that were scored within three minutes of the half-time interval.
Ryan Barnett’s first goal at the club was scored in the 21st minutes with an excellent close-range finish to the post.
Mullin’s 101st Wrexham strike doubled the advantage of the hosts just a few minutes after. Barnett played a part in this goal as he freed Andrew Cannon on the right side of the box to cross a low ball that Mullin was able to tap in.
Wrexham’s two further goals put the game beyond doubt in the final fifteen minutes.
Cannon scored himself after Lee’s attempt was parried. Mullin, Wrexham’s third and Mullin’s hat-trick came in the final eight minutes. Mullin took advantage of Crawley’s poor backpass to beat their goalkeeper.
Crawley replied with a Klaidi lolos goal in the stoppage period, but that was little more than a consolation to their visitors.
Wrexham will return to action at Forest Green on Saturday.
