Construction has started on the high-speed railway project that was delayed for so long. It will connect Las Vegas with Los Angeles. The long-delayed high-speed rail project from Las Vegas to LA has finally begun. More than $400 roundtrip cost.
Work on the Railroad
Both Nevada and California engineers are performing surveying, and geotechnical drills up and down medians on Interstate 15 where the train is expected to eventually speed along at up to 200mph.
Testing for unsuitable construction foundations using geotechnical drill tests. This includes loose, coarse-grained, or peaty soils.
As crews move closer to California, they are in Nevada. KLAS/Las Vegas California crews have been working near Hesperia and the Cajon pass since Monday.
This preliminary engineering work will cause traffic problems for Las Vegas residents as well as tourists.
Short-term closures will affect freeway shoulders during daytime and nighttime hours — something everybody’s going to have to get used to.
