Saddle up and sparkle — the Texas Rangers have revealed their 2023 World Series champions ring. The rings will be given to Rangers players at tonight’s game. [Saturday, March 30] Chicago Cubs game.
The ring features the Texas Rangers logo (their primary logo as of 2024) of stylized white “T” with a red drop shadow — the Rangers have worn this design on their caps consistently (and in a couple of colour schemes) for the last 31 seasons.
The design is a symbolism-filled masterpiece, as is the norm for championship rings in sport today.
The Rangers will have 103 regular and postseason wins in 2023.
The 23 rubies in the logo’s shadow represent the year 2023.
The 11 stones in the “T” represent their 11 road victories during the Postseason
The 16 diamonds around the outer ring (and this is where we get silly!) are for the 16 consecutive games in the postseason that the Rangers hit home runs.
The 30 stones around the blue center represent the club’s thirty postseason homeruns.
The 52 diamonds in “CHAMPIONS”, for example, represent the 52nd season since the club moved to Texas. (Note that the number of diamonds in “WORLD” is not explained). The Rangers first season in Texas (in 1972) is also noted with 72 diamonds around the side.
The team has added a few more details to the graphic below:
Another new feature we’re seeing in championship rings of late is the removable top to make way for even more references — the Rangers filled the inside of their ring with a nod to their perfect road record in the 2023 Postseason, as well as a slice of a game-used World Series baseball.
Their opponent during the World Series, the Arizona Diamondbacks, also revealed their 2023 championship ring celebrating winning the National League pennant (yes, this is a regular thing losing World Series teams do… no, the D-backs aren’t being silly).
