New York Mets teasers have been released for their new City Connect Uniform. This is sure to make the coming days interesting.
Postings on social media simply stated “Coming Friday” and included a 15 second video. Have a peek:
This clip starts with an incredibly busy New York crossing before it cuts to the Mets’ New York logo IYKYK surrounds the orange IYKYK. The message “If you are familiar with New York you will know” is formed by the two letters.
The Mets logo turns PURPLE after two seconds. Yes, purple.
The purple color here reinforces my expectation that the Mets would use the subway theme as their City Connect uniform. For those who are unaware, purple #7 takes fans directly to Citi Field.
A previous post featured the Queensboro Bridge video along with the teaser of April 19th. Again, the video shows the “NY” purple logo.
It is likely that the Mets, who are currently wearing Nike MLB City Connect jerseys, will unveil theirs in 2024. There are seven games left between now and April’s All-Star Break.. Detroit Tigers has already revealed that they will unveil theirs in May. Toronto Blue Jays’s is set to be unveiled on 30 May. Last week, the Phillies revealed theirs.
On April 19, we’ll be watching everything, so I urge you to do the exact same. Next Friday, we will have complete coverage.
