Dutch Gambling Regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA)After an investigation last year, the. has ordered that DigitalOcean stop offering its services to affiliate gambling sites.
In its inquiry, the KSA focused on Casinozonderregistration.net and Nieuwe-casinos.net. The regulator was unable to contact or locate the owners of the affiliate websites, but identified DigitalOcean’s hosting company. KSA claims that Article 1, paragraph 1b of the Dutch Gambling Act prohibits the promotion and sale of gambling without a license.
DigitalOcean, which had previously been approached by KSA to end its service to these sites in the absence of a court ruling, declined.
The District Court of Rotterdam gave the KSA permission to proceed in January. This led to the issuing of an order of cease and desist. DigitalOcean has the right to appeal if it fails to comply.
