They believe that there are 31 teams in the NFL who (according to them) have a greater impact on the market (except perhaps the Panthers). Mike Vrabel was a national sensation in the early days. He was also credited with lifting Lombardis while he served as captain of the Patriots. He is viewed very favorably by them. In the past year, many national journalists have seen the Titans’ can Vrabes and thought it was a franchise who had traded AJ Brown in 2022 on Draft night, then fired their GM months later for making that decision, and can Vrabel last January. Many in the national media don’t realize that a franchise on the decline took progressive measures. They only see the dysfunction. And I get it. It’s not like I’m inundated by the Titans daily (like much of America). I would also have trouble understanding the moves. Mike Vrabel’s final and a 1/2 season was 6-18. Vrabel’s team, which had a four-game lead in the division with seven games left to play but failed to win one game during that time span, is not well known. The national media, as well as the rest of America, remembers Vrabel’s victory over Belichick in a Wild Card Game that was televised, then his team beating Baltimore and claiming the AFC #1 seed the following week, while also claiming Lombardis for the Patriots.

The Titans are viewed as the Connor Roys of the AFC South by the rest of America. They’re not likely to get anything from their father unless they become president.
Titans’ fans, you can rejoice: We are used to playing this role. It’s true, I absolutely LOVE playing this part. What if the Titans fail? It was expected by everyone. What if the Titans are really good? If the Titans win, then the national media will get whiplash. We all like to see other people wearing neck braces.
