Following a third successive loss, the Indian Premier League 2024Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians’ captain posted a message of appreciation for his team on X. MI, under his leadership for only the third match, suffered another humiliating loss last night by the Rajasthan Royals.
It was expected that the 5-time Champions would win their home opener of the new season, but instead they were shocked by what happened.
Hardik’s Post on X
Never give up is the one thing that you need to know about our team. We’ll never give up. pic.twitter.com/ClcPnkP0wZ

Hardik Pandya, who is the captain of MI, hasn’t given up. He wrote to X on a recent day. “Never give up is the one thing that you can be sure of about our team. We will keep on fighting and going.”
Hardik Pandya’s message is simple and clear. Mumbai Indians are in trouble, they have had a terrible start to their season. But the team is very experienced at overcoming difficult circumstances. The team has been on this path before and it’s not new.
Hardik Pandya is experiencing this new phase in his captaincy career for the very first time. Pandya was able to enjoy a relatively easy ride as captain of the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League during the season 2022.
Pandya led GT to the IPL championship in his two first seasons with the club. Last year Pandya was just one step from making history. Last year, the MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings prevented Gujarat from successfully defending their title in the Narendra Modi Stadium final.
Hardik Pandya has been unable to bring his team together, but this is also due to his players’ behavior. Pandya, who was alone in the dugout when Mumbai lost by 6 wickets last night in Wankhede and none of his team members, senior or junior, came to support him.
Mark Boucher the head coach, who did everything to get him back in shape before auctioning, wasn’t even there at that time when Hardik Paandya went through a tough period.
Next up, DC welcomes MI
Mumbai Indians’ next league game will be at Wankhede Stadium, where they are expected to welcome Delhi Capitals after their 6-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals. It will be played on Sunday, 7th April. The first game of a weekend double header. Delhi is playing the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday before they visit Mumbai. It will be fascinating to see what MI has planned for DC, who just won their first match of the season by beating Chennai Super Kings two days earlier.
