Things are going from bad to worse for Hardik Pandya in the ongoing IPL 2024 with each passing day. While the all-rounder must have been excited to start a new journey in the ongoing tournament, it is fast turning out to be a nightmare for him.
After two successful seasons with Gujarat Titans as their captain, Hardik Pandya made a sensational return to Mumbai Indians and replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain. The move did not go down well with many and Mumbai Indians’ disastrous start in IPL has only made things worse for the franchise as well as its new captain.
Hardik Pandya has been constantly targeted by the fans for replacing Rohit Sharma and three defeats on the trot have led to further criticism. He received a hostile reception in Mumbai’s first game of the season against Gujarat Titans as the fans in Ahmedabad targeted him for ditching their team even after being made the captain. The allrounder was also booed in Hyderabad when Mumbai locked horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The situation only became worse on Monday (April 1) when Mumbai Indians played their first home game of the season at the Wankhede Stadium. The fans did not squander a single chance to take shots at Hardik Pandya. The situation was so bad that commentator Sanjay Manjrekar had to scold the crowd during the toss.
Did Hardik Pandya ignore Sachin Tendulkar?
Amidst all this, a video has gone viral on social media claiming that Hardik Pandya ignored the legendary Sachin Tendulkar before the start of the game. Tendulkar is a part of the Mumbai support staff for the ongoing season. The video shows Tendulkar walking towards the main pitch while Hardik Pandya is practicing beside it.
Pandya did not show any interest in checking out the pitch with Tendulkar. In the meantime, Rohit Sharma noticed Tendulkar near the main pitch and walked up to him before both were seen discussing the playing surface.

Earlier, Hardik Pandya was also accused of ignoring MI bowling coach Lasith Malinga after the game against SRH. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s next game is against Delhi Capitals on Sunday (April 7). They are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table with three losses.
