El Cortez, our beloved El Cortez, has revealed details about a $20 million upgrade.
The $20 million figure may seem small in Strip money, but it is a ton of cash in Downtown dollars. Let’s find out what “ElCo” has in store.
El Cortez was founded in 1941. It was a turbulent time when harbors were bombed, Yugoslavia experienced a coup, and doctors could still slap babies. El Cortez has some rough edges. However, the management and ownership of the casino appear to be committed in updating this old girl.
This latest addition follows a recent renovation worth $30 million of the 47 original rooms in the hotel, as well as Tower Premium Rooms and Casino Floor Restrooms.

A new $20 enhancement will feature a lounge with a high-limit, two bars and restaurants (Hot Noods by Chinglish, an Asian concept restaurant) as well as a Starbucks. Yes, Starbucks. Yes, Starbucks.
Hot Noods is a pretty risque song for El Cortez. Kudos!
Chinglish, a Cantonese Wine Bar located in Las Vegas that you have probably never visited, But there’s even more. A.I. We asked A.I. Moderator thinks that the prompt probably violates our community standards. Well played, El Cortez.

El Cortez will begin renovations in the summer of this year. The final phase of expansion is expected to be revealed at the beginning 2025.
The project, according to the news release will increase the casino footprint by 10 000 square feet and massage the current casino floor for 4,000 sq. ft.
El Cortez has opened. high limit lounge Not too long ago it was announced that a permanent, proper room is being built. This high-limit room is more aspirational and less in demand than many others downtown. However, it takes just one great player to make the high-limit rooms worth their investment.
The two bars will include a bar for roulette, or whatever it may be.
Another is called a “show bar,” with a 10-foot-by-20-foot screen, which will show black and white movies and sports events in real time.
It’s legal to play sports.
El Cortez is aiming to keep its vibe and legacy as an affordable, value-oriented, downtown hangout and drinking place for grinders while bringing some newness.

Kenny Epstein and the great El Cortez team deserve a lot of credit for the many new things they are working on, including the bars. Because bars.
Adam Wiesberg and Kenny Epstein are the general manager of El Cortez. on our podcast. Smartass, just because we haven’t produced an episode for a couple of weeks doesn’t mean that we don’t have a Podcast.
El Cortez has a great reputation as an affordable destination, especially as the prices on the Strip continue to rise. El Cortez has a more gritty feel than the fancy Strip casinos. But it’s still Vegas, where the dealers could be surly, adding a delicious twist to gambling.
El Cortez was designed to be a place of gambling. The only entertainment is the Cirque (or nothing at all), and there are no video arcades, movie theaters, or gourmet restaurants. El Cortez can be found at the eastern end of Fremont East, which means you’ll have to go out of your way to get there.
El Cortez, however, is a place worth visiting – especially if your budget is limited and you are looking for adventure. The seedy area means that there will be many characters in the bar, which makes the experience more interesting than the Strip.
El Cortez is a true gem in Las Vegas, where most casinos look like lab-grown creations.
El Cortez features character and charm.
