On Saturday morning, police arranged two flights to transport 130 suspected suspects of gambling and frauds from Cambodia.
As part of a collaborative effort between Chinese law enforcement and Cambodian agencies, this event marks the first group of suspects returned from Cambodia during 2018.
Chinese and Cambodian authorities recently strengthened their cooperation to fight common criminal activities such as trans-border gambling, telecommunications fraud, and other forms of crime.
A recent operation in Cambodia culminated this cooperation. Local law enforcement confiscated computers, servers and phones that were believed to be used for criminal activity. They also apprehended a number of Chinese suspects.
As confirmed by Chinese officials, the rest of those suspects, besides those returned on Saturday, will be sent back via chartered aircraft at a subsequent time. To prevent the repeat of these crimes, China’s Ministry of Public Security is committed to enhancing law enforcement collaborations with other countries and regions.
