Borussia Dortmund is hoping that their 2024-25 home jerseys will become a modern classic. The Bundesliga team and finalists in the 2024 UEFA Champions League are always a contender.
The new uniforms were unveiled on May 17 and the team will use them for their final Bundesliga match on May 18 when they beat SV Darmstadt 98.
The shirt is predominantly yellow — Borussia Dortmund’s traditional home kit color — with four sets of vertical pinstripes down the front of the shirt. In each pinstripe set, there is a larger stripe surrounded by two smaller ones. As is the collar, sleeves and sleeves are all solid black. The club website states that “the timeless pinstripe style combines tradition and the modern with a glimpse into the future.”
With the new kits comes a brand new font on the numbers and names of the jersey. The Bundesliga does not have a league standard font, unlike other European domestic leagues.
ACF FIORENTINA — Home
ACF Fiorentina, a Serie A team in Italy, is embracing their purple signature color to create their home kit for 2024-25. The kits are made by Kappa. From the collar of the shirt to the bottom hem the kit is purple with subtle parallelograms in the fabric. On the collar, cuffs, and sleeves are other textures. White is used for the Kappa logos and sponsor logos, which are located on the shoulders and chest.
BOLOGNA FC — Home
Bologna FC, Fiorentina’s Serie A rivals in the UEFA Champions League for next season, have called their new 2024-25 home kit “an act love”. It celebrates Bologna’s journey over recent years which has led them to this point. Bologna FC will wear their new home kits for the last match at home of the Serie A Season on Monday.
Bologna’s classic vertical red and blue stripes are featured on this kit, which is wide enough to only have two each of them. Blue crewneck collar with red trim. Red sleeve sleeves with a central blue stripe. The gold trim can be found at the hem of the rear and in the triangular insert located on the collar’s back, where “WE ARE ALL ALONE” has been written.
ATHLETIC BILBAO — Away
Athletic Club Bilbao, a Spanish La Liga team from Bilbao, is following the trend with its away kit for 2024-25. It was made by New Balance. The blue kits with a tonal pattern on the front and back are meant to evoke the River Nervión, which flows through Bilbao. “A symbol for the city and club, it’s the place where Athletic players celebrate their greatest triumphs aboard the renowned ‘Gabarra’, just as they did this past April” when they won the Copa del Rey, the club’s website says. The sleeves of the raglan style are solid navy blue and the collars have red dots around the edge. On the collar, there is a graphic depicting the Basque Flag inside the head of a Lion.
