What is the reason that all Major League Baseball teams are wearing camouflage caps today in black and green?
The reason is that MLB and New Era celebrate Armed Forces Day every year. Here in 2024 the cap will be worn throughout the league on the weekends of May 17, 18, 19, 2019. The Armed Forces Day Weekend is marked by a unique cap for the fifth consecutive season.
All caps, buttons and crowns for this year are in black. The typical logo of each team is on the cap’s front, but it has been recoloured in army green and dark black. Each logo’s interior has a camouflage green pattern, with three stars on each side.
A patch with two lightning-bolt bats and a shield shaped like a home-plate with an American-flag pattern is placed on the left side of the cap. All of these are placed within a circle filled with camouflage. The MLB logo is black, yellow and green on the back. Green is the color of the undervisor. Black is the colour of the sweatbands.
