Celebrate the Holidays Vince Carter‘s election into the Basketball Hall of Fame this past weekend, the Toronto Raptors A new poster was released to honour the man responsible for helping the Raptors become a household name in the NBA.
Carter’s very first days in Toronto is reflected by the graphic. The red raptor dino was part of both the Toronto Raptors original logo You can also find out more about the following: Raptors’ first uniform The dinosaur is shown wearing the shirt that Vince wore during his rookie year. He performs Carter’s famous dunk in the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The dinosaur wearing Carter’s Raptors uniform is purple and black. When he did the stunt, he wore the same look as the road version of the club from 2000-2006. Gold has been added to the overall design, something that wasn’t on the original.

Many fans called for the Raptors to bring back this look in full force.
There were some who remembered how the uniform and logo looked when they actually wore them, but it wasn’t a positive impression.

It’s absolutely true. The original Raptors’ uniform was not to my liking, and I hated it at that time. I was only 12 years old, from Toronto. That was exactly the demo for which this package was designed. Of course, nostalgia is a powerful beast; here in 2024, now as a guy in his 40s (wait, when did *that* happen?I’d love to see them return to the purple color with the modernized Raptors uniform, worn as an alternative option.

This logo has been making the rounds since at least three months. At the time, rumors suggested that this logo was either made for the Raptors City Edition 2024/25 uniform or would be released along with a throwback jersey to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the club.
Sadly, I cannot confirm that this logo or the 2000-2006 uniform will be used in-game next season (my hunch is the club will wear the uniform as a throwback), but I *can* at least confirm that this Raptor/Vince Carter dunk logo will be featured on Raptors merchandise I’m sure we will see it on the court in some fashion between now, and next season. That’s why I think it’s likely that we will see this on the court.
