Danish Gambling Regulator SpillemyndighedenThis year, the has revealed its plans to fight unlicensed gambling.
The organization plans to concentrate on fighting illegal gambling activity on social media. Spillemyndigheden will work with technology platform operators to identify streamers who are promoting unlicensed gaming sites.
Spillemyndigheden, after receiving repeated warnings from the streamer in question, filed a complaint last year. In August of last year, after police had confirmed that the Danish Gaming Act was violated, the streamer received fines. Spillemyndigheden reported to police two more cases and continues to monitor such activity.
Spillemyndigheden has expanded its partnership with platforms such as Facebook, Apple and Google, to eliminate illegal gambling applications and advertisements. The regulator has stated its intention to work with more media outlets in order to stop illegal gambling.
