Massachusetts Lottery’s Executive Director Mark Bracken wants the legislature to give his agency the authority to conduct online games of chance and sell lottery tickets to those who reside in Massachusetts and are at least 18 years old.
Bracken oversees the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission which regulates and runs the lottery in Massachusetts. Bracken claims that online sports betting in the Bay State, which started in March of 2023, has likely taken business away from lottery.

Fear of Jacktapping
Boston-based DraftKings agreed in February to a deal with Lottery courier Jackpocket For $750,000,000 in cash and stocks. This deal will close during the second half 2024.
