BAN vs SL – Day 4 of the 2nd test: Sri Lanka’s innings is led by Angelo Mathews, who scores a half century to help Sri Lanka put a big target for Bangladesh, 511 runs.
Sri Lanka was impressive with their bats on the fourth day of the match. Overnight batters are in. Angelo Mathews Prabath played a magnificent first hour at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. He showed excellent discipline in his batting early in the game.
Angelo Mathews made a crucial contribution to the team by helping them achieve a high target. On a hard pitch to bat, the veteran batter scored a stunning half-century. Shakib al Hasan knocked out the batter after he played 56 runs.
On the other end, Prabath Jayasuriya (28*) supported him well as the duo added 43 runs together. After Mathews got out, Jayasuriya along with Vishwa Fernando (8*) added quick fire 25 runs that took Bangladesh’s lead past 500 runs on the board. After declaring their innings, they had 157/5 and set a target of 511 for Bangladesh.
Hasan Mahmud is the best of all the Bangladeshi bowlers. He took four wickets. Khaled Ahmad supported him with the newball and took 2 wickets. Shakib al Hasan was also in the bowlers column, as he took one wicket.

BAN vs SL, 2nd Test, Day 4 – Bangladesh innings: Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz keep Bangladesh in the game
Mahmud hasan Joy (24), and Zakir Hazan (19) of Bangladesh started their innings with the aim to reach the 511-run target, but were unable to continue. Both batted well at the beginning and scored 37 runs as part of the first partnership. However, both were quickly dismissed.
Najmul Hassain Srinto, the captain of Bangladesh’s first team (Najmul) had an excellent start. But he also lost his wicket after the opening star. Mominul Haque (51) kept Bangladesh in contention and scored a crucial half-century, but couldn’t convert it as the pressure mounted.
Shakib (36), and Litton (38) Das looked good at the wicket and did their best to save their teams. Both batted brilliantly and scored 61 runs in total. Both players lost their wickets in the space of three overs, leaving Bangladesh at 197/6.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz ensured that Bangladesh played the match to the end. The hosts led the game at Day 4’s stumps. The score was 268/7, and we were still 243 run away. Lahiru Kumna, Prabath Jayasuriya and Kamindu Mendels took two wickets apiece for Sri Lanka.
