A man was arrested Thursday for a slashing at a restaurant that occurred earlier in the month. Montana Gaming property
Trevor Leonard Johnson has been charged with assault with an offensive weapon for the attack on March 18. It took place outside of the Ike and Susan’s Lounge & Casino in Great Falls.
The incident began during a lengthy conversation between Johnson and the unnamed friend, who was identified by the police as Johnson’s friend.
The victim left the complex when the casino bar closed and hid in a parked car at the parking lot.
The victim punched Johnson’s head once he got outside the car for an unknown reason.
Johnson responded by pulling a black switchblade out of one of his pockets. He used the blade to ? The victim should be stabbed at least twice in the stomach and the arm.
Johnson initially fled the crime scene. He returned a short time later and was heard saying “It was I.” MontanaRightNow.com a regional news website reported, “I did it.”
After the slashing was committed, officers arrested Johnson. He was taken to Great Falls Police Department.
After hearing Johnson’s version, a GFPD agent watched the video of the fight captured by the casino’s security cameras.
Victims Suffer Wounds
The victim was taken to a local emergency hospital. Doctors MontanaRightNow.com reports that he was treated for multiple wounds as well as internal organs which had protruded through his stomach.
Authorities said that hospital doctors also treated the victim’s large cut on his stomach and a stab injury on his arm.
The police did not have a current condition of the victim. It’s not clear if he was released from the hospital.
Judge Rules on Probable Cause
Johnson appeared before Cascade County court following his arrest. The case was continued by a judge after he determined that there was no evidence. Probabil cause Johnson is guilty of the crime.
Johnson’s sentence was also set by the judge You can also bail out if you are not happy with the outcome. He also ordered Johnson not to come within 1,500 feet of the victim. Johnson was further ordered to stay away from the victim by Johnson.
Johnson has yet enter a guilty plea on the charges.
It was not immediately clear why Johnson and the victim had gotten into a fight.
Johnson could be sentenced to up to twenty years in prison. He could also be fined up to $50K.
No word yet on whether Johnson was hurt during the confrontation.
